Workshop

The 2nd Dalian International Workshop on Silicone & Sheet Plastination Technique

July 15th~18th 2018

Pre-Conference Hands-On Workshop

The Three day pre-conference hands-on workshop is designed for   (1) those who are novices in the technique of silicone and sheet plastination technique (2) those who would like to familiarize themselves more with the basic principles of silicone and sheet plastination technique (3) those who would like to receive close direction in the implementation of these principles and establish a laboratory of Plastination.

Workshop will be taught and supervised by Prof. Hong-Jin Sui and Prof. Kees De Jong.

Hong-jin Sui, PhD.

Hong-jin Sui, PhD.
Professor and Chief Director,
Department of Anatomy, Dalian Medical University, China.

Creator of Mystery of Life Museum, which is a unique museum specifically for exhibiting plastinated specimens. Executive director of Chinese Society of Anatomical Science (CSAS). He has been engaged in applications and innovations of plastination techniques since 1994, and now holds the ownership of the biggest plastination lab around the world - the Dalian Hoffen Bio-Technique Co. Ltd.

Kees Hillebart de Jong

Prof. Kees De Jong,PhD.
Professor in Anatomy, expert in Plastination and Silicone technique.
Nationality: Netherlands

I am a teacher in human gross anatomy and embryology since 1976. I started my career in the University of Amsterdam, Academic Medical Center, and since my retirement in 2016 I have been working as a part-time teacher in the Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China.

I started plastination in 1991 after visiting the Fifth International Conference on Plastination in Heidelberg, Germany in 1990 and setting up a small plastination facility in Amsterdam for silicone plastination, which was extended for sheet plastination in 2003.

At this moment I am involved in the setup of a plastination facility in the Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, which should be running in the end of 2018.
